RHODODENDRON 'Accomplishment'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Dexter/Scott Horticultural Foundation Parentage: ('Pygmalion' x haematodes x 'Wellfleet')
Description: This is one of the famous 12507 series of Dexter hybrids that were grown at the Scott Arboretum. Original interest in these plants focused on 'Acclaim' and 'Accomac' with the others named at later dates. 'Accomplishment' is the only bicolor in this group, and not one to be overlooked. It blooms in midseason with full trusses of a
dark rose red; a white star graces the center of each flower with
dark freckling on the upper petals. It has beautiful fortunei-like
leaves.
