ACER palmatum 'Tamuke yama'
|
Description: The new foliage is a deep crimson-red but soon changes to dark purple red and holds this color very well until turning scarlet in fall. The young branches and twigs are maroon red, and the growth habit is strongly cascading. It prefers light shade. A slow grower; 50 to 100 year old plants are 13 feet high. Although the name is a mouthful, this variety is well worth it!
