RHODODENDRON 'Faisa'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Delp Parentage: (minus, Carolinianum Group, pink flwd. X polycladum Scintillans Group)
Description: Ron grew this plant for a number of years in Massachusetts. It grew in a sandy, exposed location and bloomed after –26°F above the snow. It now thrives in New Jersey. Brown scales cover the small, 1.5–2 inch leaves, giving a bronzy appearance to the foliage. The flowers are a smoky lavender-blue. It's both cold and heat tolerant. Our last two hot, drought- filled summers, have not fazed it. 'Faisa' has a dense compact, upright form, with no pruning required.
