RHODODENDRON 'Queen Bee'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Berg Parentage: (yakushimanum X tsariense)
Description: For the East Coast species aficionados who lament their inability to grow the species R. tsariense because of our hot summers. This looks like it in many ways with a similar plant size, small indumented dark green glossy leaves and apple blossom pink to white flowers. The yakushimanum genes in this hybrid give it the extra vigor and hardiness to take our eastern climate. Give it good drainage and some shade, and it will reward you with its early mid April blooms.
