Description: Due to a taxonomic name change, the species formerly known
as metternichii is now classified as a variety of degronianum. The species yakushimanum is also placed within the species degronianum as ssp. yakushimanum. All are excellent garden subjects, well adapted to our climate and very attractive, especially for their leaves with tan indumentum. The flowers are a pink that pales as they cover this plant with bloom in early May. This is a dependable species with year-round beauty.
