RHODODENDRON 'Wynterset White'
|
Parentage: (parentage unknown)
Description: Named by North American Rhododendron Registrar of Plant Names Jay Murray and husband Bob, and placed in micropropagation by Hank Schannen and the Murrays. This is a great early, hardy white. The dormant flower buds are dark maroon, lending winter interest and making it easy to identify when not in bloom. The buds open to a light lavender but quickly fade to glowing white trusses that last longer than most other elepidotes. The plant is a medium to tall grower that is as wide as tall. We recommend this as the best early white.
