RHODODENDRON 'Queen Anne's'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Henry Skinner hybrid Parentage: [(brachycarpum x catawbiense) x (fortunei x unknown)]
Description: There are not very many double flowered rhododendrons, and even fewer hardy ones. This double hardy plant buds very young and very heavily. The flowers are white with a slight lavender cast from lavender buds. The stamens are entirely converted into extra petals. Its growth habit is slightly taller than wide and very dense. This is a heavily used seed parent by many who are breeding for hardy double flowers in other colors.
