RHODODENDRON 'Gem Gardens Scintillation'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Dr. Gustav Mehlquist Parentage: (Dexter or Mehlquist seedling of 'Scintillation')
Description: At least three different plants contain the name 'Scintillation.' We like this one the best. This form has the same great deep green, paddle-shaped leaves plus some special qualities. First, it has survived the rigors of the cold climate in Storrs, Connecticut, so it is cold hardy. Second, the color is a slightly deeper shade of pink. Third, it appears to be larger growing than the standard 'Scintillation.'
