Hybridized/Introduced By: Amateis Parentage: (minus carolinianum group X ciliatum)
Description: The white flowers with light green speckling in the throat are unusually large for a lepidote. A dense plant with deep green foliage, it has the unusual distinction of receiving two of the highest awards from widely separated plant societies: the Award of Excellence (AE) of the American Rhododendron Society and the First Class Certificate (FCC) from the Royal Horticultural Society. Rare has it been when an American plant has received the British FCC award. Will take a fair amount of sun and inherits an intriguing scent from the ciliatum parent. Despite her elegance, Dora has a tough, feisty constitution.
