RHODODENDRON 'Disca'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Gable Parentage: (fortunei ssp. discolor X 'Caroline')
Description: Introduced in 1944. This is the reverse cross "little sister" of the heralded 'Cadis'. The fragrant frilled flowers open a pale pink that fades to white. 'Disca' is also a late bloomer (June) and comes into its full glory a week after 'Cadis', which gives a good reason to add 'Disca', even if you already have 'Cadis.' Tests as resistant to root rot and is sun and heat tolerant.
