RHODODENDRON 'Boule de Neige'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Odieu Parentage: (caucasicum X hardy catawbiense hybrid)
Description: Introduced way back in 1878, the name means "Ball of Snow" in French. As you might expect, the flowers are white, in perfect rounded trusses, and geometrically proportioned to the leaves. The habit is dome shaped. Leaves are matte green, and the plant's constitution is tough and very hardy. It even blooms well in deep shade. Hank, as a plant breeder, has often said his definition of a dream is 'Boule de Neige' in 24 colors!
