RHODODENDRON 'Spätlese'
|
Description: Wine lovers will know that 'Spätlese'(pronounced shpaet'lesa) means "late harvest" in German, and refers to grapes picked late in the harvesting season. This 'Spätlese' extends the bloom season, flowering the first week of June here in Central New Jersey. Large pink, funnel-shaped flowers, are gently ruffled. The outside of the petals are a little deeper in color, the insides have cherry-red flecks throughout. Vigorous, wide upright habit. Foliage is a glossy dark green. Wunderbar!
