Hybridized/Introduced By: Towe & Anastos Parentage: (Natural hybrid of calendulaceum and periclymenoides, wild-collected near Lake Keowee in Pickens Co.
Description: ‘Gamecock’ is spectacular, with large and rounded trusses that are almost like a bright orange tennis ball! A strap-petal selection that opens inside as a vivid reddish orange with a strong orange blotch inside; the outside is moderate reddish orange. The split petals are fairly wide and taper to very narrow bases. Leaves are about 2 inches long x 1 inch wide.
