Description: This trim and perky little evergreen shrublet is one of our local Pine Barrens natives. It grows in moist, sandy soil in sun, the habit is under a foot high and dome-shaped with tiny, glossy evergreen leaves on delicate stems. The leaves turn maroon in winter; then in May, it smothers itself with tiny, starry white flowers.
