ACER japonicum 'Aconitifolium'
|
Description: This maple's leaves have an appearance similar to the fern-like leaves of the genus Aconitum (Monkshood). An excellent selection for amazing fall color. The name is very descriptive, for in the fall when there is a breeze, the leaves dance and look alive with colors of tropical oranges, flaming reds and brilliant yellows. Tolerant of cold temperatures (-25°F), it develops a rounded, bushy habit 8 to 10 feet in height. Prefers full sun or light shade. Zones 5-7.
