Description: One of the best and most sought after trees for ornamental bark character but can be difficult to grow. Bark peels in colorful curls of light to deep chocolate brown. Belongs to the trifoliate (three part leaves) maple group with A. triflorum, mandshuricum and maximowiczianum. Grows 20–30 feet.
