HELLEBORUS argutifolius 'Janet Starnes' seedlings
|
Description: If you like variegated plants, you'll love these. The new foliage is almost white with a pink flush. As the foliage ages, it turns green with heavy white speckling. These are seedlings, but they come true. One of those species that bloom on the previous years' stems. The flowers are green and not very showy. Over winter in colder climates, the leaves on those stems get worn out, but unless you're saving seed, you can just cut them off at the ground in early spring and enjoy the new growth. Named by Philip Curtis Farms for plantswoman Janet Starnes of Molalia, Oregon, who found the original in a batch of seedlings. These sell on sight! 1.5 x 2 feet.
