Description: A great evergreen groundcover for partly shady sites with well drained acidic soil. Native to our nursery site. Leaves are very glossy, rounded, about an inch long. Produces small white flowers in spring followed by bright red edible fruit about the size of a blueberry. The leaves and fruit, when chewed, taste of wintergreen. This is the plant from which that flavor was originally made. Slowly spreads by underground rhizomes when happy.
