Description: This highly ornamental small tree was found along the banks of the Alatamaha River in Georgia by John Bartram in 1770, and has never been discovered in the wild since. Lovely white camellia-like flowers with golden centers bloom from July through September. Its culture is similar to that for rhododendrons; humus-rich, acid soil with excellent drainage is required. Protection from strong winds is also advised. "Ben's Best" is a particularly vigorous form. Sorry but we cannot guarantee this item.
