ENKIANTHUS campanulatus 'Showy Lanterns'
|
Description: Bell-shaped flowers are larger than those of the species type and are solid pink in color. Deep green leaves turn rich scarlet in autumn. 'Showy Lanterns' is also more densely branched to ground level. Enkianthus campanulatus thrives in part shade to full sun, though fall color is best in full sun. An excellent choice for the woodland garden, chosen by the late Ed Mezitt of Weston Nursery in Massachusetts.
