Description: A cross between the exquisite but finicky D. peregrina from Japan and D. formosa subsp. oregona and D. eximia. From this parentage, 'King of Hearts' has inherited astonishing vigor; sun and heat tolerance; bright pink, heart-shaped flowers that appear from late spring into fall and incredibly lacy, soft gray-green foliage. Unlike the Common Bleeding Heart, D. 'King of Hearts' will not go dormant in midsummer as long as the soil is kept moist. | ||||
