Hydrangea quercifolia (Oakleaf Hydrangea)
Hydrangea quercifolia, the oakleaf hydrangea, is also a SE native, and can take full sun and a drier site. Flowers are white and turn a lovely pink as they age. Oakleaf hydrangeas offer three season of interest, with magnificent fall color in shares of red, maroon and burgundy, and wonderful creamy tan peeling bark in the winter. Prune only as needed to shape the plant.
