Caryopteris (Blue mist shrub) Caryopteris x clandonensis Bluebeard or Blue Spirea
Easy care, long lived shrubs for well-drained, loose soil in full sun. They grow as dense low mounds covered with gray green ferny foliage. Flowers are in various shades of blue in numerous small cymes on the ends of the new growth. They are best treated as an herbaceous perennial and cut to the ground in winter. Flowering can be prolonged by lightly pruning away spent blossoms to encourage new growth. Zones 5-7.
